 Exhibits
1) Lightspot Operated Keyboard
The lightspot operated keyboard is a personal computer input device using a laser. This is intended for quadriplegic patients with disabilities like spinal cord injury. Although the early device was useful for some quadriplegic patients, we have now developed a lightspot operated keyboard with better performance. The characteristics of the new device are as follows:
(1) An inexpensive semiconductor laser is used.
(2) High reliability is realized under all circumstances.
(3) Mouse function can be executed.
(4) Electronic devices can be controlled directly.

2) Environmental Control System
An Environmental Control System (ECS) is an assistive device which allows persons with severe physical disabilities to operate electric devices around them such as powered beds, televisions, and phones. This system allows to operate an ECS while using a personal computer without reaching to switches of the ECS unit.

3) Eye Gaze Communication System
An Eye Gaze input system is the ultimate solution when used as an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system, because eye movement may be one of the few controlled movements available in many severe physical disabilities such as muscular dystrophy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The user can select a desired character by gazing at it for two or three seconds. Simple word processing software is provided and the user can write any documents.
