Blood glucose sensor with voice-outputting module for patients with diabetic retinopacy
This device has been developed for patients having visual impairment, particulary for patients with diabetic retinpacy.
It outputs operational guide of itself and the result of measurement by voice as well as LCD display so that the patients can measure blood sugar level alone.
This project was supported by the fund of the Association for Technical Aids, and performed by the cooperation of our group, Matsushita Electronic Industrial, Matsushita-Kotobuki Electronics Industries, Ltd., Arkray Co., Ltd., and Artronics Co.
The device was further improved after the project, and finally the product named PlusTalkTM was commercialized from Arkray Co., Ltd.
