1. Hot Keys

1) Hot keys
Using the control + character keys, you can perform the commands of the function keys, the shift + function keys, and other softkeys.
In other words, with ALTAIR you can call the commands assigned to the function keys, the shift + function keys, and other keys, by pressing a character key while pressing the control key. These control commands original to ALTAIR are called "hot keys".
For function commands, from Q to P of the character keys are used as the substitutes of F1 to F10 keys.
When the softkeys like function keys are not easy to locate like with laptop computers, this operation is more convenient. The following is the list of the hot keys:

SHIFT + CTRL + I to move the cursor to another line
CTRL + O to the beginning of a block
SHIFT + CTRL + O not used
CTRL + P to the end of the block
SHIFT + CTRL + P to mark
CTRL + A for upward mark jump
SHIFT + CTRL + A to continue upward search
CTRL + S for upward word jump
SHIFT + CTRL + S to copy
CTRL + D for downward word jump
SHIFT + CTRL + D to paste

CTRL + F for downward mark jump
SHIFT + CTRL + F to continue downward search
CTRL + G to change a file (between file 1 and 2)
SHIFT + CTRL + G to change a file (among file 1 to 10)
CTRL + H same as the back space key
SHIFT + CTRL + H for on/off of read-inhibit
CTRL + J to read the current line
SHIFT + CTRL + J to delete from the cursor position to the end of the line CTRL + K to read continually

CTRL + Z to toggle between character reading and line reading

CTRL + 8 for telling file name
CTRL + 9 for telling Document size
CTRL + 0 for telling cursor position and block range
CTRL + - to toggle between insert and replacement

CTRL + \ to delete extended ASCII (works when the data format is text)
CTRL + \ to convert braille to text
SHIFT + CTRL + \ for on/off of cookie authentication

CTRL + 6 JUMP MODE command: to toggle the function of the CTRL + up/down cursors between link jump and mark jump


2. Configuration by al.cfg


1)Configuration file
The configuration file AL.CFG shall be placed in the same folder as ALTAIR.
Write one option per line in al.cfg.
A line beginning with - is read as a command.

2) Specifying a telephone communication port

-Q3 for no conversion 8 dots
-Qij (1 <= i <= 3, 1 <= j <= 3) example: -q13 toggles between two braille translation modes

12) Displaying a line number

 When you set -U option in AL.CFG, the number of the current line is output on the braille display.
However, this function is valid only when the value of -D option is 4 or more smaller than that of -Z option in AL.CFG. In addition, in that case, the function to display the current position cannot be used.

If you set -E option in AL.CFG, you can specify the current folder.

40) Line break skip
SHIFT + END for on/off of line break skip

By the shift + end keys, you can toggle on/off to skip line break during a continuous reading.
With the default setting, the skip is off. If you set -{ option in AL.CFG, the default setting is changed to skip on.


3. An AL.CFG Sample
