The long-term goal of research in our lab is to understand how glial cells (astrocytes and oligodendrocytes) are generated from neural stem cells during neural development and how glial cells function under normal and pathological conditions. Our lab aims to utilize this basic knowledge to develop new therapeutic strategies for repair and regeneration of the injured central nervous system.
