Perceptual Functions Section

Introduction

Our group aims at clarifying the functions and mechanisms of sound processing system in both peripheral and central auditory synapses.
Further we aim to unveil the pathophysiology of inner ear disorders.
In order to address the questions, we employ biophysical and molecular biological techniques.

Patch clamp recording from the inner hair cell afferent synapse of mouse cochlea.

Mouse organ of Corti
Three rows of outer hair cells.
One row of inner hair cells.
Recording glass electrode approaching the target.
