■Mission

The department of assistive technology has the mission of contributing to the promotion of QOL and dignity of perosns with disabilities through the development and evaluation researchs of assistive technologies (ATs), with "Users”, “Lives” and “Products" as the keywords.

In consideration of the innovation process that promotes the development and dissemination of ATs, four areas with advanced AT development, mechanical test and standardization, field test and fitting, mental and cognitive function support technologies.  We conduct researches based on field-based innovation concept, which is set up and conducts research, development, and evaluation in close cooperation with the parties and users.  We also aim to output the results of research as standards and standards for assistive devices, as well as developed devices, and methods for conforming to the devices.
